dude honestly

i would wait, until the market picks up lol, it's soo crappy right now, that's why you wouldn't get a good price that car is worth a lot, of money, but of course, age will always be ur worst enemy whether it's has xx,xx miles and such, the materials only last for soo long my friend. but then again. none of it is worn. so try to get a higher bidder maybe you'll get just wat your looking for, and ebay too post it there

You are. I've got pics but way back in the thread I asked for instructions on how to include in this thread. I'm all ears!

$10k?

I missed the market by a whale, I'd lose my job over a miss of that magnitude

a car that can't do the throttle reset.
Its a really old car. KBB is optimistic. Try getting KBB from a dealer. Car is worth less. Sorry, but its true.

sure that car will be good for someone to do what it has been doing for awhile: be parked

if buyer wants to actually use it, they better be ready for some work, anything rubber like hoses, belts.....not to mention you'll have leaks soon, gaskets gaskets gaskets. bushings, ball joints, cv boots, oh boy i could go on ;p fluids of course, but that's not really an issue, the issue is more of how much deposits are there already in the tranny, diff, engine. i don't care if the car has been stuck in a bubble on NASA sattelite, it'll still have potential sludge buildup, unless i'd remove the valve cover and see condition i wouldn't touch it.

The other way to look at it is that if you bought a C36 with 50k miles on it, it also would need something - but with the 50k car, you'll have 50k worth of wear and tear on the drivetrain, interior, and exterior. Fixing the exterior and interior are generally expensive, while fixing mechanicals can be expensive depending on what's wrong with it.

I'd take a 1600 mile C36 over a 50k C36; take some killer pictures, get an excellent description written, and toss it on ebay.

Then we'll all assume you are not a serious buyer? Thanks anyway! Let me repeat what the proposition is. A $50,000 plus car that is 12 years old yet actually new. They are probably all over the place right? Doubt it. Oh and by the way, this is not my car. It belongs to my deceased friend's son. My pocket stays the same whether he sells it of not. Personally I think he is an idiot not to drive both cars, (there was another) into the ground.

Richee: Thanks for posting up the pics. When I sent them, I thought they were in larger format. I'll try to re-send larger. You can't see the mileage on the odometer. Too small for my eyes. The VIN is home in the back of my Vette in a briefcase with all of the C 36 paperwork. I'll get it to you tomorow. Also have more pics of trunk, which includes the MB CD changer as well as interior shots and close up of the odometer.

'98 C43 AMG. Obsidian Blk w/2 tone slvr/blk interior
this car looks really great! if it was a 97 i would have already bought it but im not a fan of the 4spd auto i had it on my first c280 and it was terrible.

I just got my new c43 last week (98. obs blk. 2-tone. 78k miles), it had been sitting around in new york for 8 months without being driven. when it got here it had a fifth of a tank of 8 month old gasoline and it ran terribly. the power would drop off after 4k and i could have sworn it was slower than a c280! After putting some fresh gas in there and going through two tanks the car ran fine but i still took it to my mech to have the injection system cleaned and now it runs great! just as good as my other 43 ran.

the point is, i would be uneasy to purchase a 12 year old car that hadnt been run enough to keep the fluids cycled through the components properly. But you say it had fluid changes every winter so i dont know... someone should drive it thats what i do know

mich, the second set you sent me that you stated were larger...WERENT larger, haha. They were all the same size as these ones up there. Even tho I work at a Mercedes dealership, Ive decided to count myself out of C43 (and C36) considerations, I love em but just cant do it. Parts are expensive....even for me, haha. Good look mich, I agree with the guy who said toss it on ebay. This site doesnt seem to get much exposure.

Hold on to it for 10 more years , have a indy service the seals and gaskets , then take it to Barrett Jackson.
