Radio LCD Display Dead

The radio LCD display on my 95 C36 (1/95 build date) is unreadable. Bottom half is dark.

It looks like I have three options:

1) Do nothing, radio works fine.
2) Get the unit repaired if anyone repairs these.
3) Get a new head unit.

For option (3), all new head units I have seen look like they don't belong in this car. The ones I have seen that I like are the Becker Traffic Pro and the Becker Monza. The challenge with the Monza is that the AM is non operational in the US due to different frequency spacing.

Any comments, suggestions?

Which head unit do our cars actually have. It seems like MB used three identical head units that have different internals

Thanks in advance

can you push lightly on the frame where the darkened corner is? ive seen the AC control unit do this thing and you can push it lightly to make it come back... may not be same problem. good luck
