sounds like airplane
things are fixed-
car had dumped enough fuel that when i jacked up the rear of vehicle only to "fix" it all i'd really done was run it out of fuel...
not sure why gas gauge wasn't showing correct reading? where does it take it's measurement from? I did have rear of vehicle quite high with the front on the ground though.
so, in conclusion- i'm an idiot
