Ignition switch woes
Lol....okay guys, I have another electrical problem for you systems sleuths
Ignition switch intermittently will refuse to rotate when key is inserted. As in the little click you hear before it rotates never happens (I assume this is some sort of starter lockout relay switching) and the key just is locked in the off position. Then in other instances, it will click, and the key will rotate all the way, but nothing will happen....like it is not making contact. Until today it was real infrequent, and when I would take the key out and toggle the gear selector into drive and back into park, it would normally clear the issue. So I'm wondering which one it is......the starter lockout switch in the transmission (if this is where it is located), or the ignition/key switch itself? What do you guys think? I really can't narrow it down much further than it seems to happen more on hot starts, but I think that might be irrelevant.

Well, in case anyone has a similar problem in the future, I figured it out and it was very simple. My key was dead.....replaced the battery, still had a little bit of trouble, switched to my back-up key and all was normal again. I think I damaged the key being drunk on the beach last weekend or something (don't worry, key and car were in very different places)
