Question What this? w202 with C32 engine

i wanted to buy this car today, went to take a look at it, but it's a strange car, it feels like it has 150 hp, as if there's no compressor, what can you say on this point, experts?

Why would it not fit? The m113 sitting in my C43 is slightly larger than that...

My guess is that they botched the electrical integration part of the swap, and the motor is in some sort of limp mode, or just simply not operating properly. I too would stay away from it unless you really know what you are doing, and are prepared for a lot of time-consuming trouble shooting. The guy is probably selling it for a good reason (like "oh ****....I'm never going to get this to work")

v6's are lame, not to offend anyone here whos a v6 fan. if you wanted a FI w202 you simply SC the 4.3 v8 and youre good to go

This looks to be a C32 motor, so roughly 345 hp. I doubt this car runs correctly, if you notice, the motor is setup to use the stock air intake system and a MAF. The C32 never used a MAF, not sure how this runs at all. No way to transplant the C32 ecu either, their coded to the VIN of the vehicle, so unless this guy is using a custom tunable ECU (or bought a brand new C32 ecu), they will have no way to control fuel flow. The C32 uses 40lb injectors, the W202 ECU wouldn't be able to control that much fuel. A piggy back ECU might work, but that assumes the W202 ECU is even usable with that motor.

Too many questions, a nightmare of a project

Dumb statement. So you're saying that the Nissan GT-R is lame?

not lame but it would be better with a v8 and easier to modify(not that u need to modify it) with a straight 6

its not a dumb statement. v6's have no place in this world. if i want a 6 cyl i buy a car with a straight 6. 4 cyl is good to go theyre always inline (except for some motorcycles, they have v-4's). i like the v8 as it is 2 4cyl motors, a straight 8 wouldnt be practical. v12's are nice as they have 2 coveted straight 6 motors joined at the crank.

the v6 sports two 3 cyl banks... that sounds pretty lame to me i dont know about you....

I didn't mean to suggest that I would CHOOSE a V6 as a powerplant, but I think blanket statements like saying v6's are lame are a little off base--especially when there are supercar examples coming to market with that same configuration.

saying that MB v6s are lame is a fair enough statement

why would you want this? it certainly would be more of a pain and just as expensive as a na 55 swap.

unhappy doesn't make them right

i don't want to trash anyone or start anything with anyone, but it's pretty clear that in ANY car model that a larger displacement engine with more cylinders is offered that it's cooler than the smaller choices.

I see an engine swap to a V6 in the same way

OK...

How about the E30 M3? It came with an I6 option, but they chose to bring out their flagship 3 with a four cylinder.

were definitely on topic here, it needs to be well-known that v-6's are always the poorer option. id honestly rather have the 3.6 i6 FI than that v6 any day of the week

If I were to ever get an e30 M3 it would have an s50 or s52 swapped into it, if that makes you feel any better

only reason to go v6 is it's compactness compared to an i6, shoot.. it's usually shorter than an i4. i6 is inherently more naturally balanced, so no extra moving counterbalances. bmw and volvo are the last few with gasoline inline-6, albeit for very different reasons. bmw claims it gets better driveline loss reduction with a longitudinally mounted inline-6.. volvo claims it gets better safety crash protection with a, yikes, transversely mounted inline-6, 3.2l no less...
