Improving Headlights

I've driven my C36 about for a couple of weeks now and am not impressed with the night vision. Perhaps I've been driving xenons for too long in other cars, but the stock 1995 headlights are pretty dim.

Who among you has tackled this problem? Have you installed the aftermarket HID kits or done something different? What have been your results?

Thank you in advance for your responses, and Happy New Year!

HID Xenons

My C43 has factory xenons - I have installed the bi-xenon aftermarket lamps from ebay and they have worked great on my Tacoma for over three years now. I have just recently installed in my wifey's Camry and she is really happy - don't get crazy with the colors read up on the Kelvin chart, higher K's does not mean brighter just bluer or even pinkish purple (stick with 5K or 6K in the color range, I used 5K). I'm spoiled with them - the kits are easy to install and cheap, they're plug and play and under $200.

After the full search

of forums I guess the status on this issue hasn't changed: if you don't have OEM xenons, getting a retrofit is the way to go. Pretty pricey, though!

Thanks

any w202 with xenons should work.. doesn't have to be from a c43.. seems to be a fairly simple swap.

altho i have no plans to do this on my c36, i'd luv to see how ppl have done it. i have however, changed it on my wagon. since there isn't an oem one for my car, i did a retrofit and put on clear jewels with no bevels on the headlight covers to keep the beams the way they intended. i used e46 bi-xenon, projector and ballast, gives me proper protection when flashing with and without headlights on.. here is the thread..
