2000 C43
New To Forum!!
I just got my 2000 C43 a few weeks ago and I am loving it!! It is everything I hoped it would be! I was amazed how much I could save by buying a used AMG vehicle over a new one. I saved over $20,000 by just waiting a few years and getting the same great vehicle. Even though I have had the car only a few weeks, below are some of my observations and pics of my ride.
Likes:
1) Power baby! Power!
2) Handling - I've owned a few BMW's, and this vehicle handles just as well, if not better.
3) Seats - These air-bladder seats are wonderful. Plenty of adjustments. And the leather is a good quality.
4) Sound - You got to love that V8 sound coming from those huge twin pipes!
5) Auto Select-shift (or whatever it's called) - Although I would always prefer a manual, this manu-matic is better than some other manufactures.
Dislikes:
1) Stereo - Even though I have the Bose upgrade, I consider this stereo substandard (not enough bass or power). Plus, that damn fiber optics prevent me from upgrading in pieces. Hopefully once I get the CD changer installed, the stereo might sound a little better. Also, I hate that damn auto level control that seems to fade in and out while I'm driving.
2) Weak key fob - I don't know why, but it seems like I have to be right on top of the vehicle for the remote key to work on the doors or trunk. Kind of aggravating..
3) Carlsson rims - The car came with the 18" Carlsson 1/6 rims, which are kind of bland to me. At some point, I plan to upgrade to AMG rims or the Carlsson 2/4 2-piece rims.
Future upgrades:
1) CD-Changer (to be installed in two weeks)
2) Different rims

Welcome to the site and congrats on the 43. I agree with you on many of the likes and dislikes. Overall, I am completely happy with my selection.
If you post a pic, do it in the C36/C43 pictue thread. Thats where many of the people have there's (mine included).
The people here on the site are very helpful with questions, ideas, suggestions. You will be able to find useful info here.

Nice pics of your car. I like Carlsson products too, but wanted to stick with the AMG theme. What is the size of your front wheels? Are they 8.5's? Also, what offset do you have for them?
