I'm considering getting a c43.

How much does it cost you to run?
What kind of mileage are you getting?
What kind of driving do you do? Lead foot, highway city etc....
What's your actual mileage?
What have you fixed/replaced?
How much does routine maintainence cost you.
Do you do your own work?
What do you leave up to the pros?

I owned a 300E a few years ago.
Before you tell me to "make sure it has the complete service history" I've heard that but I think it's mostly unrealistic seeing as the cars I'm looking at are probably being sold by the 2nd or 3rd owner.

Thanks.

What's your actual mileage? 98k right now, bought it with 90k
What have you fixed/replaced? just the brake hose under the hood, not sure what its called. Part was around $50
How much does routine maintainence cost you. Havent done any service yet, will do 100k service soon
Do you do your own work? Na friend helps me out

I've spent close to about 12k for repairs and what not in 2 years of ownership....

valve head job $4700 at 67k miles
replaced engine with a 5.4L from a W210 E55 $5,000
Replace transmission at 82k $2,000 and all the other smaller various costs....

That sounds about typical, based on my old 300E.
Lots of money to keep running.
Is the head and transmission pretty typical?

I've had mine for a little over two years.

How much does it cost you to run? a bit, it's a Benz. A little more than my old Audi 90.
What kind of mileage are you getting? 18-20mpg, avg 18.5-19.5. Worst I've seen was 17-something
What kind of driving do you do? Lead foot, highway city etc.... mixed bag including rush hour beltway traffic and some heavy-footed highway runs. I take it pretty easy on her considering
What's your actual mileage? 110k-ish
What have you fixed/replaced? air filters, steering shock, LCA bushings (poly), trans, RR axle, serp belt & tensioner pulley, vc gaskets, oil filter housing gasket, brake pads, tires... I'm sure I'll remember something else
How much does routine maintainence cost you. DIY Oil change is $100-something if you use good oil (pentosin, german formula castrol synthetic) and a long life filter
Do you do your own work? As much as I can
What do you leave up to the pros? crap like the transmission. I had them do the belt & seals too, didn't feel like ripping the front of the car out just to get in there.
