Installing a Quaife LSD in a C43 - Auto Addiction

Well it finally happened, blew the rear in the C43. After checking around it seems like the Quaife is the way to go. Dealer wanted $2300 Retail for a Reman one... lol... From what i was told by Quaife it looks like we will have to be changing a couple of things. I searched the forums and looks like theres no real list of parts that have to be changed (if any)... So when it comes in i'll be putting our results here......

Any AMG Thats Around..
well diff came in today... and i can see where all the confusion comes from....

I ordered it for a C43 and i was told that i would have to get the other style of outer-shafts... the push-in type.... not the type that have the big c clips (thats the ones that we have)...

So i had everything waiting for the Quaife when it arrived.....

So it ends up that just about everything in the factory rear is to small for the quaife..... Bearings, ring gear, housing all to small....

The C43 has a 210 part number rear housing.... So the next size up is the 220 housing....

I happen to have a few complete diffs lying around, so im going to try to fit a complete factory 220 diff into the C43..... If that goes well then im going to swap in the Quaife.....

Hopefully the slight difference in width do not cause a problem with the length of the axles.....

So we will see tomorrow.... If anyone else has been down this road before, let me know... lol

I dont frequent the threads too often but this caught my eye. Any status on your swap? For it to fit, the 220 housing should be used and your going to need the rear cover off of a CLK55 (208) to mount it in. I will eventually go to the quaife after the modified factory LSD I put in pops.
