Wow . . .
There’s no doubt you have dibs, should the BRABUS ever go up for sale , but I’m afraid I’m a little short on the cash necessary to cover the difference between the BRABUS C 5.8 and that sick 2007 CLK550 RennTech Coupe that you have. Hopefully you’ve put on a little more mileage than the 1,600 miles that it came with.
Perhaps I can interest you in a group buy on the MERCEDES-BENZ CARLSSON EINZELSTÜCK C56?

50%/50% ~ Ohio in the Summer and Miami in the Winter?

white and whiter
finally there are pics looks awesome
Brabus also had the rear for the W202 btw. They're not expensive, but incredibly hard to come by. BUT IMO the C43/55 AMG kit looks a lot better than the old Brabus kit.

To mod or not to mod . . .
Thanks RAMON55!
FrankW,
Sorry for the delay in posting the pics , I had every intention of taking them sooner, but was never able to find the time. I believe the BRABUS rear bumper, like the front bumper, was produced for pre-1998 W202’s. I know the front can be retrofitted, but I’ve never heard of anyone attempting to mount BRBAUS rear bumper on a post-1997 W202. Makes ya wonder if it’s possible? I’m sure it is possible in some way. Nevertheless, I think the forum consensus is to keep it as close to stock as possible. I tend to agree. That being said ,

JamE55,
Thanks for the compliment! You actually just missed the vehicle. It was previously owned by a gentleman in Cali who purchased the vehicle new and worked with BRABUS to complete the conversion. I had the vehicle at both BRABUS and evosport recently, for pre-purchase inspections, test drives, tune-up, dyno runs, etc. but following the purchase the car was shipped enclosed via Reliable Carriers to Ohio.

- BOSCH clear corners were ordered 4 months ago and remain on backorder.
- The suspension will be addressed by BRABUS to lower the ride height. In my opinion, I believe the set of BRABUS Front Springs listed above by Sinyo1 are for a 6 cylinder W202 and a set of BRABUS Rear Springs listed are for a 4 cylinder W202, but I’m confirming this with BRABUS Germany. If Sinyo1’s set won’t work, I’m sure the boys at BRABUS will come up with something. If not, it’s Bilstein Sport Shocks; Eibach Pro-Kit Springs; Front K-Mac Kit; Rear K-Mac Kit, poly bushings, etc.
- Windows will be done in 15% - 35% Formula One Pinnacle Series tint, for no reason but to match my daily driver.
- I also picked up an OEM EURO front plate bracket and an authentic, silver with black, BRABUS logo euro marketing license plate, just for display in case I decide to show the car for fun.

To answer your question:
The front and rear Brabus bumpers were designed for the preupdate bumpers, which had a two-piece design. You could technically add them to the car, but I honestly feel that it would look odd to a Brabus front bumper (or rear) without the sides. I say just leave it!
Buy Steve's suspension and that would really set it off! Congrats on a rare and amazing vehicle!

TJMJR,
Fantastic, Beautiful Car .... Great job on all of the research and advance work on buying it. I'm sure you're enjoying it.
FWIW - another option on the suspension - I've used the "Euro-spec AMG" springs on my C43 to keep it all MB. They have a great drop and comfortable ride comparable to US spec stock springs. I used the HD Bilsteins. I've never scraped or bottomed in front or back (w/ #1 spring pads in front).

Now that’s an idea that I didn’t think of! The boys on the U.K. Forum did mention the fact that they believed the Euro spec C43 sat a bit lower, but I never thought to look into it. Thanks for the suggestion!

1998 Mercedes Benz BRABUS C5.8
The BRABUS C5.8 was recently detailed, winterized and placed into storage. I have made no major changes to the vehicle, but I have assembled a few potential modifications that I am currently considering.

Wow.. So it must be something of a show piece then? Definitely sounds like it. Good job for keeping it so well.
Maybe You could get some pictures up soon, when it comes out of storage? Obviously after the winter.

As my second W202, I only get to enjoy the BRABUS on the weekends when the weather is nice. The car has made it to a few local German car shows, but I assure you the car is a driver, just not a daily driver. I will add some pictures soon.

I suppose the value to the car is open to interpretation, but to me . . . it is priceless.
