BE 1692 poor eception

'85 300D, '01 E320W, '98 C43
BE 1692 poor eception
Just replaced an after market stereo with a Becker and the reception is poor. The problem must be in the antenna because the reception was a problem in the removed stereo. Any ideas to trouble shoot?

You probably had better reception with your after market radio than the MB OEM - my reception is horrible. My Toyota Tacoma and the cheap Kenwood gets significantly better reception than the Becker - both FM and AM reception are very poor in the MB radios.
