Help!
I have a '97 36 and it has the lock-unlock system where there are sensors on the driver door, trunk, and rear view mirror, (you know the little red and green rectangle electronic sensor...)
Well the one on my driver door has cracked, or been smashed and water has gotten into and it no longer works. Im not sure when these were updated, I believe the 43's use the newer system, but my question is, how do I fix this?how much will it cost? And can I do it myself?
Ive never heard of anyone having this problem, so im a little lost on where to go to look for a replacement.

I would assume the door paneling and possibly the window glass would need to be removed along with things that could be in the way like the window motor and linkage. I would be confident to say this is a totally DIYable project if you can source the module. I would wait for another C43 to show up that is being parted out and see if you can nab one cheap. This is something you would want to do in the summer anyhow. A Saturday or Sunday with a six-pack and patience FTW.
