I have to agree in that the 36 seems to be more 'authentic' to us vintage AMG junkies then the 43, which was based on previous models when AMG was still seperate. The 36 was a fully modified engine, whereas the 43 was a swap from the 210 with added cams, tuning, etc. Don't get me wrong, its still nice but not as much went into it. Arguing it here is pointless though as BOTH cars were made by AMG and I would love to have either one and there is no misconceptions about that.

yes i alligned it back to factory, i'm on cut H&R springs, shims number 1 all around,

it's a 4'2'' drop if i'm not mistaken..very low.

used custom camber kit for back to allign.

but then again, I don't race it anymore, streets here are terrible, i can't even take the highway, rubs in the back @ 60mph lol.

I love both cars, I want a c36 as my second car really bad, I have nothing against it and Im not gona deny the fact that its just as fast as my car BUT......



Do not say stuff as "AMG didn put as much effort into the C43"


Why?? Because...and this is a fact you can find on google.....C43 was FULLY assembled by AMG. Ok Engine was lifted out of an E class but the rest of the car was fully assembled by AMG people at the factory, where they pay special attention to every little detail. C36 was a disassembled C280 ready to be modified by AMG.

You may be on to something there. A crank sensor is a way common failure on the later engines but with a slightly different symptom. Typically when it fails, it can A) cause the car to die out while driving or B) keep the car from starting at all by doing nothing but cranking. 9 times out of 10, It doesn't set a fault in the engine module.

 

I hate everything and everyone right now. That damn Torx on the CPS just wont move. I am so close to stripping it completely.

I will at this point talk to some mechanic.

 

Jesus I feel like all the C43 owners think there car is god compared to the C36, and ALL of the are thick skulled or just have serious lack of intellegence. Both are AMG cars as I have stated but my point prevails because, even though PJmak may not like it, it stands true. What makes a performance car a performance enhanced car? Suspension, braking, and ENGINE upgrades! Assembling the freaking body panels has nothing to do with AMG lacking in attention to the performance aspects of the C43. I'm sorry but no.

This is my only opinion here: "'C36'ers" happen to hold thier own against C43'ers. I respect all. I give credit where credit is due, I am not stubborn and I have stated NOTHING but facts in ALL of my posts. These other evesdropping C43 trolls have obviously NOT read any or all of my posts and after/if they do they will realize the ignorance on their part for dubbing in on an argument that should be practically noexistant due to lack of FACTS and a heapload of twisted, distorted defense from the C43 side. If ANY of you read all of my posts I feel like I tried to handle this like a gentleman and stick to things that are factual unlike the constant responses: "ohh boy this car is so much better because in my mind I belive it is" No stats, other than the fact that the body panels were assembled by AMG workers, I'm sure that adds defense to the genuine factor I was arguing about but thats not what AMG is about and assembling body panels does not do so much for performance. I think the discrepancy and the jealousy exists more from the V8 side than the I6 side due to the similarity in performance as the V8 guys want to feel big and bad. Thats my complete opiion however and anyone is free to contest that. ONE THING IS FOR CERTIAN v0ac is the complete instigator here and in my opinion is making the C43 crowd here on the forums look like ignorant bullies as a few C43'ers have tagged along to aid in his imaginary rants. Sorry to hear about the torx giving you problems, try to soak it overnight with a penetrating oil and see if it will break loose. Or let us know the mech report. Sorry about all this crap we have to deal with from the "ignorant others"....wish they would just let us alone and then fend for themselves when all there gears start slipping. Annoyed to the max right now.

 

Unpleasant to say the least. This is THE last part I ordered. Crank Position Sensor. As soon as I get it, I am handing the car over to a mechanic who is 25 years my senior, who does it professionally.

If that fails, appatula, buddy you are coming down for coffee some weekend soon. Since my last option is my ECU being screwed after I got it from Powerchip. I would really hate for that to be the case.
