C36 Springs 95 vs 96

A customer came in today with a 96 C36 all stock. His car was lower than my 95 by 1". I have a almost 2.5" front fender gap to tire on my 95! His springs are the original springs. The height of his car is what I want. Anyone got a set of of 96-7 springs? I am going to call the dealer to see if the original part numbers are different.

check your spring pads. i bet you have the thickest pads. that's what i have on my 96 c36. it sits ridiculously higher, even higher than my friend's c280.

has anyone bothered to check how much each notch on the pad changes the ride height? I think I have 3 and 4 notches on the car now. I should have looked closer when I was changing the shocks.

I'm in the midst of suspension work on my C36 and had this lurking around on the computer...the part numbers indicate 210 which would suggest the spring pads interchange with the W210 E class?

Front Pads:
#1) 210 321 01 84.....5mm
#2) 210 321 02 84.....9mm
#3) 210 321 03 84.....13mm
#4) 210 321 04 84.....17mm
#5) 210 321 05 84.....21mm

Rear Pads:
#1) 210 325 01 84.....5mm
#2) 210 325 02 84.....9mm
#3) 210 325 03 84.....13mm
#4) 210 325 04 84.....17mm

I believe these part numbers are for 97 or 98 C36's as the spring pads for my 95 read as follows:
#1 Fronts
201-321-09-84

#2 Rears
201-325-10-44

Hope that helped
