Centrifugal force is greater the further you are from the centric point that is rotating about, right? Therefore because the tire is at the outermost part of the rotating mass, "technically speaking of course" then the tire weight is more important. The problem is that tires weigh A LOT less than wheels so according to a force to weight ratio the best improvments (if any) might still come from a lighter wheel. Right?

Yeah this is along the same lines that the thread I was reading was talking about.... The guy used a yo yo spinning around as an example. Either way obviously the lighter the rim + tire the faster/quicker in terms of speed as well as response. I was debating all of this when I went to buy my rims and tires a couple months ago and then I realized that I'm not going to track my car and truly the C43 is a cruiser so I went with what I liked and didn't really care about the weights.

there's no stabilizer bracket on certin places, holding the bumper straight and tight!
I guess the bumper plastic flexes and gets uneven overtime?
I've seen sum really ugly bumpers on this c43 forum!

Try getting a slight bump (touch) by another car and that could cause a permanent wave. Please someone touch me so that I can get a new one thru an insurance claim

Cat,

Did you ever have any problems clearing the Strut on the front? Im running into trouble with these 19" mono blocks hitting it. I really dont want to use wheel spacers so I was just wondering if you have had this problem and if so how to did you fix it?

Thanks,

BTW my wheel specs are as follows:

Front:

19" x 8.5" ET 46 Tires: 225 35 19

Rear:

19" X 9.5 ET 46 Tires: 255 35 19

I am running the same size diameter and width rims but my offset is like 35 or 32 I believe. Of course I am not running the monos, I have mandrus milleniums and with the offset I have it is millimeters from hitting the strut but it doesn't hit at all. You will most likely need spacers to solve your problem, otherwise you will need to change your rims to get a different offset.

How about shaving off a couple of mm on the strut casing itself?

I wouldn't recommend that at all, use spacers it the cheapest and easiest solution.

go with spacers. however, u might encounter rubbing in the wheel wells when locked.

i think the only thing that is not oem are the two rear tires, s03 instead of expedia s-01. shoot, even the front tires, spare tire, front and rear rotors AND pads are still from the factory, made in 1996 ... i don't think the s-01s are that sticky anymore hahahahaha.

oh wait, i did just replace the entire a/c system, but that's still oem.

Not really sure its all that wavy, it is an 11 year old car, it has never bothered me, post it up in your own post...kinda tacky to point stuff like that out (at least I think).

I don't have the specs with me here...but you need to get to almost stock offsets. I had to run spacers on the front and rear to get them to work. What wheels are you using...AMG or knock offs? My new wheels are 18s and are specific for the car (not factory but from an OEM for Merc) so no spacers needed.

Well figured out how to put it on without spacers. I ran 215 35 19's on the front and it seemed to do the trick. I am also using Original Monoblocks... I dont know what car it came off of though but it the original ones... I think its looking a bit big though.... I might change to 18" Carlsons......

Pretty sure the original monos never came in 19. I looked around and I was told that by several folks. Mine are reps and WICKED heavy. I really feel the 18s are the size for the car. I know others may differ. My new setup will be 225/45/18 ft 255/35/18 rr. That should clear everything and look pretty good. If I need to I will use a little spacing to push the wheels out, but I am thinking I won't need it.

You know what thats what I thought too... but after researching.. they do come in 19's and are very rare.... That what really got me to get these 19" mono's just because of how rare they are.....

yup 19" TRUE monos do exist but are HARD to come by as no one wants to get rid of them....... Great find and I would do whatever it took to make them fit.
