I'm looking at it for a wholesaler friend of mine....not for me. Sure sounds nice and looks perfect in pix.

You rock Tony ! Good to hear that beauty is still in your hands. Nice avatar picture too....wink, wink

Are you going to STARFEst in Winchester, VA? I'll be there Sunday for the auto-x in the 500E. Anyway.

Yes, I got lucky and I sold the 996 Cab a few weeks ago actually...onto a CLK Cab or an R129 SL now.

lol on the Avatar....my weekends are booked with a home remodel project right now, so no fun for a bit...btw, this beauty ain't going nowhere. Last night I went to Home Depot and picked up a couple 10 foot lenghts of 2" pvc. Some guys in the parking lot were watching me walk towards my car, and I bet the were wondering how I was gonna get them in there. Open the trunk, fold the rear seats down and voila. They looked on in amazement......

Yeah man, owning a NA 996 out-of-warranty is risky business; good luck with the ride.

Yeah, preaching to the choir you are...and now I have an out-of-warranty Rs6 !

Actually, the 996 Cab gave me no real problems the 2+ years I had it...I was pretty lucky I think.

You have one of the rarest C43s Tony, you better keep it ! But sell it back to us if you decide not to.

Sir, consider yourself lucky, go play the lotto before it runs out. For some reason the water gets jealous of the oil in those engines and travels kidding.....

I plan on keeping it and giving it to my daughter when she turns 16 in a couple of years.

yes, it is. btw, the C has more torque and hp than the pcar. And 993 prices have come down quite a bit especially if they have higher miles.

Did anything come of this?

Looking to get some local C43 owners involved with some road racing, perhaps the 2 local autocross chapters.

Heh...while my C43 has nothing for storage in comparison to my old Volvo V70 wagon (of course) or my old Saab (less obvious), I managed to get a whole Sears lawnmower into my car in the summer. Had to fold down the handle, but that's about it. The Sears guy who brought the lawnmower out, and an old man walking by didn't think I could do it.... Made the satisfaction of driving home that much better!

No, he wouldn't go lower than 15 grand for it....best we could give him was 13. He's got my number and I told if he needs tgo dump it to call us. It was a former Hatch & Sons car...mint.

Are you refering to the CART and the PCA auto-xes here in CT?

Yup. Just ran CARTCT last weekend, looking to do FCSCC (they index their classes! ) but I'm not sure if I will be able to finish my steering\alignment chores before this coming weekend.

Peep it: http://www.cartct.com/10-10-10.shtml

Nice job !

Either the guys in Super Stock can't drive or you can because you were as fast as those guys...are you really a 'Novice'?

I was Novice champ with CARTCT ....back in 1996 ! (with the 16V Scirocco)

Not as novice as the classing may have you believe.

I've run my e36 based 325i a number of times, but as far they are concerned, I've only run the C36 once before, plus I'm a non-member, hence the five hundred level numbering.

Now that I took home the beer mug with etched #1, they will bump me.

Where does SCCA classing put me? My car should pass for 'street prepared', but what class letter am I?

I'm surprised with those guys hustling Corvettes through the cones that quickly. That 'stock' 370Z was quick too.

OP, please forgive the htreadjacking.

Looks like I should be allowed to run ESP. Found my own answers.

The fast corvette is not Stock category you will notice. That C4 is a ridiculous setup. 275mm F/335mm R or something beastly like that. Always takes home mugs.

The 370Z is a high spec Z, Nismo I believe. The driver is also known to be a very technical participant. Pretty much all novices are looking at his lines, that blue car is treated like a demo car, ha.

Also the course was definitely on the less technical side. Whats strange is that the properly classed turbo cars fell flat on their backs.
