It brought a tear to my eye....

I was driving downtown and noticed what appeared to be a C36 parked on the side of the road. As I got closer I was sure it was a C36 (unless someone did an amazing job of turning a W202 into a replica C36). Unfortunately as I got closer I noticed that there was some substantial damage . I really hate seeing a C36 or C43 damaged as there are so few in the world and a fallen soldier brings a tear to my eye. I stopped and took some pics and posted them on this forum as a tribute to a fallen soldier....

C-pillar panel can it be fixed by beating the panel straight again as it was before the accident?
Or does bodyshops cut off the bad part and weld a new panel in place?

22 X3, 21 330e, 97 M3, 97 C36 (sold), but on the hunt for a clean, low-mile C43!

I just don't get it. Why don't people take care of these special cars? In this case, it seems the car got swiped from the side...so why doesn't the owner simply make an insurance claim and fix it already?? Do the car some justice for Christ's sake!

I'm sure the easiest way to fix it would be to cut it off and weld on the new piece. The car was obviously still able to be driven and the damage didn't look fresh so I am wondering why it wasn't fixed. Either way it is sad to see a piece of AMG history sitting in that condition. The monos had the centers painted a gloss black and it looked really good. I gave the car a once over and the rest of the body looked fairly straight...... If only the car had a responsible owner who cared for her as I do mine it would be brought back to life IMMEDIATELY after the accident. Alas as a famous song once said, another one bites the dust..... Now if you excuse me I'm going to cry in a corner for one of our fallen soldiers
