What do C43 Frt. Caliper and Rotor Wt?
I am looking at a 13" rotor set-up that weighs a total of 15 lbs per side.
What does the stock caliper and rotor weigh?
I would love to knock of another 10 -15 lbs per side of unsprung wt.

call either a dealer or a suppler and have them calculate it for you. usually they have them slides that show the break down of all the parts on a car and have info on them (i.e. the weight, used to calculate for shipping) worth a try.

Last night I pulled off the front caliper of my C43 and weighed the thing. A whopping 21 lbs. Man that is one heavy boat anchor
The Caliper I am lookking to replace it with is 5.5 lbs.
I am guessing, based on the weight of my old C280 rotor that the bigger C43 rotor is also around 20 lbs in weight.
New rotor would be in the 11 to 13 lb range for the 13" x 1.25" thick two piece rotor.
So with a new front brake kit I may save 21-5.5 = 15.5 lbs lighter
for the caliper and 20-12= 8lbs lighter, rotor.
Total wt. savings from brake system 23.5x2=47 lbs
That is a Big Wow. I have got to do this. 31lbs of unsprung wt savings and 16lbs of rotating wt savings which is more like taking 35lbs of weight out of the car.

Well I somehow put on 30lbs of weight after I quit Superbike racing. I blame it on drinking Pepsi.
But 47lbs of unsprung wt is a lot of mass reduction that the spring and shock combo will not have to control anymore. Should result in a quicker car and better handling.
And yes the brake system I am considering is of much better quality than the stock stuff.
