Replacing antenna
To all C36 owners, have any of you replaced your antenna mast? Mine doesn't seem to extend all the way, even when I give it a nice yank (yeah yeah, that's what she said). I think it may have some corrosion inside. So I bought a new mast and I'm ready to install it, but want to make sure I don't eff it up. The directions that came with the new mast seem so simple, but I don't know...anyone got any advice??

Can't vouch for the quality, but......
If I recall from my early days with a W123, you just have to undo the top round nut and pull gently the mast, flex cable and antenna cable. Install should be the same way but reverse. Don't recall if you have to activate the antenna switch to get the cable to wind up inside though....

^Hmm...yeah, that's pretty much what the included instructions say. But could it really be that simple? OK, I'll give it a shot later today and report back results.

So I installed the antenna using the provided instructions w/ the help of a buddy. Although it took a couple attempts to get the motor to bite onto the plastic antenna cable, it was a piece o' cake.~
