So I guess you don't want an e39 M5 then?

You CAN find nicer ones with lower mileage that probably haven't suffered the problems you mention, though you would spend more than the 20k you mentioned. But, yeah, I agree, go 5.4L swap if you want NA gains...that's going to be the best bang for your buck without strapping a blower to it.

Hey man, got any links to more photos of your cars? I've loved Big Fast Audis since watching Ronin. (But I dig the Small Fast Audis too. RS4 FTW!)

Yes. I was pointing out the w202 C55 only weighs 74lbs more over all, so my number were off. That and if that 74lbs is all at the nose of the car, the a CF hood would even that back out.

Yeah, not a huge fan. I do understand their appeal but I am not interested is spending that kind of money on a ten year old german car. Maybe a 993 porsche would be worth that head ache but not a ten year old 5 series.

Is this the weight difference between C43 and original C55 W202?
Concerning the angine itself, there is no difference. Maybe the 55 is a little lighter even...
The original C55 was fitted with the differential with big housing while C43 has the medium size one. That should make some lbs.
The transport weight of a 5.5 engine is 218kg (that should be 480 lbs). Maybe the weight was including the wooden pallet.

Eurocharged Dyno Tune $550 25HP
Res Delete and X pipe $300 10HP
Evosport Underdrive Pulleys $350 12HP

That's 97HP at the crank (302 stock + 97 = 400HP) give or take a few in each direction for $4990 or $51.00 per HP. AND since I know some one will say it, the parts swap right over the the 5.4 engine for later. So why don't people tune our engines anymore? Doesn't the 5.4 weigh over 100lbs more too? Seems like everyone gives up and goes right for the 5.4, even if their current motor is still in good shape. If you did just one of these mods each 6 months to a year, its not as huge of a hit and an entire engine swap and you can still move to the 5.4 once the 4.3 goes. Are most of these numbers not accurate or what?
the engines are the same weight. Same exact engines, just one is bored out more. I have both. Swapped my 4.3L with the 5.4L.
