As some may know I am going through accident repairs right now. I got a hold of a new Duraflex bumper and I am being told its not going to work. It looks like there is a gap on top like it needs a molding. Anyone want a Duraflex for their C230/C280
Its basically non returnable (yea turd burglars) , but I still need a 43 Bumper with limited funds. Dealer is $900- for unpainted shell and a special order item.
Is there any worth while after markets?

Hell yes there are good aftermarket bumpers but they will cost you close to the same as the OEM. That really sucks about the DF bumper. Good to know they dont match up though.

I am guessing my car will look real retarded with a regular bumper on the front. According to the shop they are going to show me what they did. I bought a complete bumper to get the internal parts to use with the duraflex. Be advised that bumper was listed as a C43 bumper and its only a stock W202 with fog light slots. So I am 0 for 2 on the aftermarket bumper market.

Yikes. Sounds like a lot of hassle. This is what always worried my about getting into an wreck with this car. Not very many after market parts or even OEM parts laying around... It could take months to get these parts.

My best guess is to get it from the dealer. I get 30% discount from them, but it would be cheaper if you had someone in a body shop willing to get it for you near by your area.
heres one on fleabay for $600, but I think you can have him bring it down a notch and tell him the Dealer sells the bumper for $630 your cost just the cover alone.

Thanks- I saw the fleabay one. Its missing slats and I told him $300 shipped is more like it. See if that pans out.
So the dealer would offer a shop a discount?? This may be best bet.
So far the lesson learned here is "Penny wise - pound foolish"
