Hi fellow members!! I have some questions about gauges for supercharger!!
I know wideband mixture gauges are probably one of the most needed, but what else??
I think I can put 3 gauges in the center storage shelf, and can't decide what to get since I do not know much about FI.
Also there are several brands that make gauges but which to get?? is there significant error involved with cheaper ones??
Will this work?? http://www.ot-2.com/
I'm sorry for asking so many questions
Here's the last hahah!
I got kleemann headers and have supersprint resonnator and exhaust, and the exhaust has 2 pipes going into the box intead of 1 pipe like AMGs.
So, I was thinking I can make staight pipe system from header back with secondary cat and delete the primary cat. I think I'll be loosing some back pressure and wonder if it will cause power loss. Whay do you guys think??

Innovate was one of the first to come out with an affordable wideband solution years back. Since then, everything's gotten smaller and even easier to mount. I still have my old Innovate LM1 or whatever it is. Not really a gauge, but a tuning aid as the box and control unit is like '80s cell phone size and like a brick. Originally Posted by Motorsport3

But if you want to cram lots of gauges into a small place, have a look at PLX Devices. I picked up one of their Multigauges, and will have AFR plus boost/vacuum (this is on my soon to be supercharged S2000 though). You can get even more hardcore with the PLX Devices OBDII Multigauge, as that will display not just whatever sensor units you hook up to it, but can also tap into the OBD2 port and access all of that info.
At minimum, I would have boost and wideband O2. Anything after that is up to your personal preferences, IMO. I would choose oil pressure next, as if you lose that, then you would want to know right away to shut the engine down immediately.
On my old Saab, I had boost, oil temp, oil pressure, trans oil temp, exhaust gas temp and water temp too. The stand alone engine management would also display a bunch of other parameters, including RPM (not that I ever looked) and intake air temp (that one was pretty neat).
The PLX Devices set up are pretty wide ranging and you can daisy chain up to 32 sensors if you want, plus the option to download and datalog. The latter would be very helpful for tuning purposes. Having gauges sitting there so you have flashing lights and such to look at are no good if you can't track what they are saying for tuning purposes. Gets expensive though. Pretty easy to drop over $1,000.00 for a couple gauges plus the datalogging option.
That PLX guages are looking very nice!! $200 for 4 parameter is best deal I think, and the OBD gauge show all the info of the engine.. wow even cat converter temp as well haha.
It's expensive but I think its worth it. I think I'll get OBD II gauge and a multi gauge with wideband and boost...
Thank you Saaboteur!!
By the way do you know if loosing exhaust back pressure can cause loss of power in FI engine??
