I've seen lots of headers and honestly they could have done these MUCH better. But there is really nothing else out there.
yes the right side is kind of 3 into the collector as one primary joins another before the collector.
The left side has each pair of primaries collecting together, running around the steering gear, and then into a 2-1 collector after it. the #8 primary is a joke.
There was zero fitment issue with the steering gear. I did have to tweak the heat shield on the left motor mount. And the front left pipe needs a little clearancing as it wants to touch the oil pan right before the main collector.
All in all for this kind of the thing the fitment was good. I was not thrilled with the design, but it's better than stock.
If you're right hand drive I can't speak for fitment issues, don't think they were designed with that in mind..
Thanks for the info,I have thought about making a set for some time but not sure what the outcome will be?. Are there any plans to test how much improvement the headers/intake and exhaust mods make?
I'll probably take it to the drag strip at some point this year to see where it's at. I have no before times though. There's a few other small modifications done also. It runs out pretty well.
Pretty sure there not all same, for the front bumper ones C36 had the brake duct holes and some early liners had the vents facing inwards which would rub on aftermarket wheels, later they were recessed.
would be helpful if someone could post a link to a useful c36/c43 buyer's guide or pre-purchase checklist - if such a thing exists? I didn't want to start a whole new thread on it, but do think it might be helpful

+1 Anyone have any suggestions as far as tuning chips? Or ecu services?

I had my C43 tuned by OEtuning here in California. It involves removing the ecu, so it was convenient for me to get it done here at a local place. The change is immediately noticeable, the throttle response is better, and the mid-range gets a nice pick-up. Seeing as how most modifications on our cars are super expensive, one that cost $395 (Black Friday Sale) that nets a advertised 27 hp/tq gain, I think its totally worth it. Plus reflashing when adding new modifications is only $100.
You've got the big players like Renntech, Kleeman, Carllson, Brabus, Speeddriven, MKB, and you have the smaller guys like OE and Eurocharged. Now these are more for the C43 because they have a much more widely used engine, but I'm sure some of these companies have tunes for the 36. Also I believe Eurocharged has free reflashes if you add mods.
Stay faaaaaar far away from any chip tuners imo

ive been considering this for awhile now, keep going back and forth on the 5.4 swap, but think im finally decided against the swap.
did the shop or did you put your car on the dyno before or after to confirm the gains?
i might start a new thread as the ECU tune topic on here seems to have all its info scattered among many threads and not really much in terms of a good idea of who to go with or proven gains... though i think one place did show before and after dynos.

Im going to call around tomorrow.
Finally ordered my suspension, Koni Sport Cup kit, also ordered oem front rotors and ceramic pads. Ecs Tuning seems to be one of the only places close to me for parts?
Getting tint on Saturday
Im going to get paint together soon so I can order some wheels.
So my H&R springs just arrived and the invoice said they are for the c43 will they work for my C36? My shocks will be here tomorrow so the plan was to install Friday and send to the paint shop the 18th

Worst case you'll just have to use W210 (C43) spring pads instead of the W201 pads that are on the car now
Super Sport Spring 8 after 1/1/96 2.0 1.9 52727-77
Do you know the spring pad part # I need? Thinking of trying to install them anyways... but idk if thats wise?
I am impatient, but I rather wait and do things right anyone know for sure if they will work with the C36?

I know for sure as I have C36 springs on my 43. The spring pads won't work with the other style springs. But they're inexpensive and there are more choices of size for the 210 ones anyway.
There's a post with all the numbers in it somewhere around here
If you really want to people have installed them without the spring pads at all. But it will be VERY low
So far my only mods have been Vogtland lowering springs, W220 S55 AMG wheels, and CL600/C32 brakes. Future mods will include a tune, super charger, and a one off carbon fiber crossover tube and a manual swap.
Unfortunately no one has really been able to find out. The C43 is actually lighter than the C36 by 100lbs or so. Personally, I'm running Vogtlands made for the C36 on my 43 with no problems. Handles just as well as my 36 did
I looked everywhere for the W210 or C43 Spring pad part #s I want #1 on the Front and #3 on the rear. Mercedes parts told me they need my vin to figure out what I need my Auto suppliers for the shop dont carry them.
Where can I order them from I want them ordered asap.
