C36 AMG 1996 black on black
Hi guys, I'm still making my list of next summer mods, because I'll do most of them next summer and I want to inform myself first.
So first of all, If you see that I'm thinking of something that isn't good for my car, don't hesitate to tell me if my *modification whishlist is incorrect or impossible to do, I'm here for your advices*.
also, I'm in Quebec, Canada (so I'm looking for suppliers that can ship where I am)
I have a 1996 C36 and money isn't a problem, I'm looking for good quality products (not SUPER expensive, but I don't mind putting more money to have good quality)
so for the list :
Thinking about the Eisenmann Exhaust : Eisenmann quotes me about 1,200 $ for the custom made muffler for the C36.
the rest of the exhaust line, it will be custom made by a company called Agtronic. (http://www.agtronicmotorsport.com/) to see there worlk
suspensions : I'd like to lower my car of maximum 1.5" since here we have road that are like Iraq. (I'd need your advice for this thought, because I don't know anything about it and I'm looking for all I need, Sring, shock, ect ect, so if you have any suggestions)
ECU Tune at Dynotune (using Eurocharged chips) : about 1000 $ quoted
Brakes : I'm also clueless about Brakes brand, and quality ect. I'd simply like to have perforated ones for more performances. So if you have suggestions
Rims : Brabus VI 18" 8.5 Front, 9.5 Rear. (still don't know witch one is better, Monoblock or 3 pieces)
seems that for AMG w202 I will need spacers, so again if you have any suggestions !
the grill, I LOVE austinholloman grill ! Where can I get it ? I bought one on ebay for 125 $ and it's cheap crap !
so for now it's pretty mutch everything I'm looking for.
If you guys have any other suggestions, because this will become my project and I'd like to put my car into shape (mecanical and esthetic) almost like if it was brand new, since I only have 90 000 miles on it.

C36 AMG 1996 black on black
I'v looked, but due to my lack of english knowledge I'm having trouble findind the websites.. sorry.
I'll try to look more
also.. I'm looking for an official C36 shift knob
for now, my only option is to create a new one myself, because I can't find one.
the carpet mats also, I'd saw that you could get ones with the C36 embroidered on them and I can't find them either.
oh and finally good quality spark plugs..

Cassard:
For a fellow Canadian, I highly recommend either germanparts.ca or bimmerspecialist.com
Germanparts.ca is based out of Toronto, and bimmerspecialist is an American company that takes care of the hassle of the border and ships from within Canada.
That said, they really don't offer many performance parts, but if you are looking for cheaper than dealer options for maintenance parts, try them. I found the best pricing on spark plugs from germanparts.ca. They should both be able to help you out with brake parts too.

Well, got my secondary cat bypass and resonator delete tube installed last Friday.
HOLY SMOKE the sound
Still discreet at idle and cruising around, but when you floor the pedal, it sounds like the devil woke up from deep down ![action](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/action1.gif)
Due to lousy rainy weather during the weekend, I only managed to do a cold start sound video (sorry for the dirty car): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FNequY7G8u4
This is what it was when stock: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FuBnsvGyvNM
Just waiting to do something better when it dries up. I'll be back....

Hi ya Kowalski!
Yes got my tube through Olly
Cost me around £300 (no VAT, no import tax), and the cost of just 2 bottles of wine for transport from UK to Swizzyland
No welding needed as the pipe fits over the exhaust tubes after cutting out the secondary cats. Back muffler slides on back end of SS pipe and tightened up. Just needed 2 pipe clamps which where cheap as dust ![Smilie](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
clamps. Modification will pass our stringent emission controls, but don't know if it will pass the next mandatory technical inspection in April next year. I have kept the old pipes just in case they become too nitty picky, so I can always put them back on. The replacement pipe lightened the car by 25kg![thumbs](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/thumbsup.gif)
Made some other mods in the air box, but shhh that will be another subject

25kg weight savings is nice!
I am contemplating deleting just the secondary catalysts, and leaving the resonator in place, see how I like it.
That said, if DRB says it's not too loud with both the secondaries and the resonator gone, it mustn't be too bad, given how old he is...

is it a muffler or a cat?
My C43 has only 2 pcs of o2 sensors and they are just behind the engine.
My rear is missing o2 sensors and are plugged and nonworking.
US cars have 4 pcs of o2 sensors and and Euro cars uses only 2 pcs of o2 sensors.
If I remove that long tube in the centre of the car and replace it with a straight pipe tube what do I gain other than a weight loss?
C43 will it be faster 0-60 mph, more tourqe and HP with less back pressure, how will the fuel consumption be?
DRB's car sounds butch with the new mod.
Question is, is it worth start cutting the exhaust pipes for this mod?
This tube system is expensive buying new!

I must say that the sound is just fantastic. After having looked a bit more at the standard exhaust, I guess the least expensive mod would be to just remove the resonator and pop in a X pipe and SS bit to the standard muffler. That way it would be easy to remove and replace with standard system. The removal of secondary cats certainly frees up the flow and increases the sound.
Just waiting for some dry weather after work one of these future evenings to do a full sound video

when I bought new o2 sensors there were 4 sensors with OEM plug fitment supplied for US c43?
I bought them all 4 and had to return 2 of them because my car didn't use 4 sensors.
also there are universal sensors supplied by autoshops but these or not included!
