What yearr is your AMG and whats the mileage
The Best of Mercedes & AMG
This is my rare 94 CE 36, all original from MB, except newer style wheels.
I am second owner. Only 50.000 km:s since new.

how do you guys do it? did you buy the engine from AMG and dropped it in there, or did you just sent the car to AMG?
I´ll give you the long version

First, I never buy new cars, always 2hand and if I know the PO the better.
My first AMG was a 86 300E that was taken new from factory to AMG and totally rebuilt. It tripled the price but was stunning. I bought it from my friend after 10 months at 2/3 of his price.
Second was a F1-drivers specially built -89 300 TE, with the 3.4 and some ext. trim but original interior. I gave half the price in 91.
My present CE from 94 was actually the first year MB took orders on AMG-conversions, eventhough very few like mine were made. Besides the C36, you could have the E-wagon, E-convertible and CE with the same engine and tech-package. Ext. trim was option, but they marketed exactly the model I have with everything here in Europe.
In 95 and 96 another few were made to orders before this model closed. As you probably know, it was a very expensive coupe and the later CLK was built on the smaller C-class.
Anyway, I bought mine three years ago from first owner who had run it only 12.000 Km.s. Price was a 1/3 compared to new, but car was as new from the factory!
It is more a matter of keeping your eyes open than your wallet....

The only problems I have had have been:
airconditioner, radiator and cats, all in the past three months.Otherwise very reliable and always a plesure to drive.
I have an SLK 55 on order ...which should be delivered in 4-5 months,
C36 may become wifes daily driver to ferry two young kids.
Or, I might keep driving it and keep SLK55 for weekends?
