anyone try FIRESTONE WIDE OVAL INDY 500 tire????
#2
I had the Firestone Wide Ovals on my C4 Corvette Convertible. I loved them. They are quiet, the handling was super nice, and they seemed to wear well. The vette had a lot of off-idle torque making it easy to produce power oversteer. The Firestone's had a nice transition to break-away. The Goodyear's I had on the car previously would just go to their limit, then just let go suddenly. First time I ever drove that car, I accidentally got it sideways pulling out into traffic. ![EEK!](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/eek.gif)
When I put new tires on my C43 a couple of years ago, I looked for the Firestone's but they didn't make them in our size at that time. They do now. I need new rears now, and I'm debating on 4 new Firestone Wide Ovals, or just replacing the rears to match my Michelin PE2 Exalto's. I recommend those Michelin's too, but they are more expensive.
I live by those reviews on Tirerack - that's how I found the PE2 Exalto's. I would definitely buy the Firestones for our C43's and C36's if I needed 4 tires due to price and my previous good experience.
