Time for servicing my C43.

I used to work in a videostore back in the 90's, had lots of quality time inspecting artwork boxes and tapes for wear n tear issues

I got my car back from B-service on Friday last week, all was great.
I was sick this weekend and I didn't drive at all.
Now on Monday I went for a drive.
I took my car out from my garage, I noticed an oil spot on the floor, I didn't think much about it, after a while I stopped and checked under the hood!
It was pooring oil from the timing case front oilport cover/gasket!!!!!!!!!!
![EEK!](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/eek.gif)
Before I took my car to the service I noticed a small oil sweat from this oil test port cover, I bought new gaskets: 1 new style gasket with the new oilport cover and 1 new old style gasket which I already use on my car.
I told my mekanik to fit the new style gasket and the new oilport lid if they fit my engine?
So he did put them on and leaving the old style gasket in the trunk.
All things ok so I thought???
Turned out to be a major problem with this new gasket and oilport cover!
It didn't hold the seal, all oil was leaking out from the engine, pavement was soking wet!!
I called my friendly mekanik and told him what happened, he told me to stop by, I had to go home and pick up my old style gasket and the old style oilport cover.
On my way to my mekanik shop my oil pressure warning light illuminated!!![EEK!](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/eek.gif)
WTF happened?
I shut off the car and checked under the hood and saw that my new recently changed oil was leaking out!!
![EEK!](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/eek.gif)
I checked the oil stick and the oil was low to MINIMUM level that's why my oil warning light lit up in the cluster.
I had to call my mekanik and he showed up, he added new oil to my engine and then they had to tow my car with an elastic rubber band to the shop which is 30km away from my home.
Fuuk, why didn't this new gasket fit my engine??
If you have an early manufactured engine this is the one for you:
This is my original gasket:

The new oilport cover:
I had to buy the centre seal and plug separately for this cover

Be aware which gasket fits your engine!
Sh-t happens and I hope I didn't ruin anything from this oil leak??

MBWorld Fanatic!
I would list everything but the list is QUITE extensive. The total was 28 (56 if you count left and right side as individual pieces) suspension components replaced with aftermarket performance parts, I pretty much replaced everything except the sway bars all though I did replace the sway bar bushings

Kowalski, estimate yourself lucky to have to pay ONLY that price. I get to pay that on my c240T for a check up and control with oil and filter change and nothing else. Just noticed that my 43 has close to 20,000km since I purchased it and according to the counter around 3500 to go till next service deadline. Guess that is because I only do long journeys and the machinery gets nice and warm
I know I will have to do my brakes (rotors and pads front and back) next time around. OE rotors despite the price and EBC red pads

Jason when you have the time, write them down all parts you replaced.
Maybe I missed out on something when I had my stuff replaced?
Front feels more solid now when I drive.
My front LCA bushings wasn't broken or cracked at all, but I noticed there were some marked lines as if the rubber bushing got twisted somehow on the outer side rubber housing????
My car has only covered 98000KM approx 60,000 miles and it's 12 years old.
Maybe it was time to do an Botox improvement on the suspension?![rolf](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/rofl.gif)
My mekanik told me, Kowalski you are only doing a luxury swap for these parts, they are not worn out or bad yet!!![rolf](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/rofl.gif)
He also told me that the main grosse bushings on the upper part of front/rear part of the rear axle goes bad on all w202 and they should be checked and eventually replaced.
They are melted down by acetylen welder and hammered out, then new ones being pressed in by a jack or something.
I guess it's an easy peasy job?
Daem, my front spring pad replacement made my car sit higher than before with the old pads!!!!!!
I now have a more level stance on my car and a 2 finger gap on front wheelarch, it used to be a 1½ finger gap before!
How many years does it take for the rubber spring pads to sink in and drop the car to sit lower to the ground?
If I tell my mekanik to go back to my old front spring pad rubbers, is it necessary to do a new 4 wheel alignment?
I still have the old ones sitting on rear axle.

I had to pay approx $585 dollarz for the B-service (labor only), I already had bought my own serviceparts including installing the camber arms.
Parts replaced was:
Antifriiz
Brake fluid
Cabin charcoal filter
Engine oil + filter
2 x airfilters
Adjustable camber arms
Code reading
Swapping airmass sensor gaskets
Swapping front timing cover oilport gasket x 2 ( an unexpected oil leak afterwards)
Swapping front spoiler bulbs
Underbody health check up and greasing certain parts like doorstraps and monowiper, checking for clogged drains from sunroof etc, etc
This is an expensive month for me, this is what I have to eat to the end of this month, water and bread like prisoners in Gulag has to eat everyday!
