power loss, Sound changed, Thinking of misfire..

Hi, I'm here to ask you guys a question, because I'm in a roadtrip so I'm at about more than 3000 miles of my car (that I miss it sooo much).

before leaving It did it about 2 times in 2 month and my dad sended me an email (he's taking care of it) to tell me it did it a third time. After a bit of sportier driving, my C36 seemed to act weird.

I mean, the exhaust sound was more like the one of a big V8, slower and louder. (even on Idle)

and I noticed it lost a lot of power over 2500 RPM and up. (in exemple, in 4th gear at 4000, 5000 rpm) I was at about 70, 75 mph....

oh and now the check engine came on.

do you have any clue of what it could be ?

If you have a CEL then pull the codes, this will point you in the right direction

Check for an exhaust leak. That could explain the increase in noise and decrease in power.

Those sound like usual symptoms for bad coil packs, leading to a cylinder misfire, hence the lack of power. Pull for codes, and if it is a misfire, then find which # cylinder is misfiring, and then replace both the coil pack and spark plugs associated with it.

Thanks for the answers, As soon as I get back home I'm going to pull the code, cause like I said, I'm on a road trip until beginning of september. I came here to calm my mind ahahah.

By the way, if it's the coils and spark plug, can you guys give me an estimate of the pieces cost and the time it can take to change them ?
