i'm looking for a c36 and i found one for a REALLY good price but i don't know if it's a c36 or a c280(it has 280 wheels but c36 badging). haven't gone to see it yet. just wanted to know what distinguishes the c36 or any amg version from the non-amg cars. anyway i hope to get it within the next month. c36 black amg

Probably a fake. The brakes on the C36 are so big you need a 17 inche rim to clear them properly.

Checking the VIN should be simple enough.

if u open up the hood, it should have amg on top of the engine or at least soemwhere in the engine bay

for 96, it should have the normal gauges as other mercedes, with the exception of the amg logo in the middle. 97 should be black and white.
