Wheels!

Anyone have any good recommendations for a source for the C43 wheels - MB wants over $700 for a new wheel - looking for a good source for used or replica that are speed rated for our beloved C43's!

Wheels aren't speed rated, tires are.

Cheap cheap replicas have been known to crack though.

Jasssc that is more my concern when talking about speed - just want some solid wheels as I like to run at speed every now and then. Finish Line was recommended by the local MB dealer - $179 per wheel - dealer said he had two other AMG customers that have no complaints with the wheels.

I use to love AMG wheels but they are super heavy unless they are BS wheels and besides ADV.1 and HRE are ten times better. If you have to have them get some used off craigslist. You can get a set for about $800 or go with forgestar for about $1200 a set and pretty nice custom made. But if your someone who wants to put new $180 made in china wheels on a once $60k car... We don't speak the same language.

I think you should try those guys, Rimpro: http://www.rimpro.com/index.html. They have a huge selection of wheels and are great to repair wheels too.

I disagree. I think it's pointless to spend money on wheels based on what the car was once worth. I would not drop 80+% of what the car is worth on wheels. Maybe I just don't value aftermarket wheels as much as others, and of course it's a different story if you're looking for super-light wheels for the track, but in the parking lot and at traffic lights no one is going to know how much your wheels weigh. I am extremely satisfied with my $700-a-set Brabus VI reps. They feel solid, don't have any flaws, and look the same if not better than the authentic Brabus wheels. And I will come back and shamefully erase this post if they ever crack on me because of poor manufacturing.

finishlinewheels.com has oem wheels (refinished) and replica wheels for the C43. The oem wheels are $179 ea.

I haven't any experience with this company - only looked at their wheels on the web for fun.

They have pretty shoddy customer service. I lost count of how many times I had to call them to finally talk to someone when I wanted to simply ask if they had the wheels I was looking for in stock (which they didn't)

- 100% agree - I paid $10K for the car - not that I don't take exceptional care of it - but outside of the MB wheels, I would gather quite a few are made in china. Not saying I want to go cheap, but $756 for a MB wheels seems kinda insane...just my .02 ...

- and yes, Finish Line told me they are OEM refinished - so the real deal it seems ...

If I was spending money on wheels I would get the lightest, strongest wheel for the money that didnt look bad. Looks are nice but when i'm behind the wheel i want the car to feel the best. Less unsprung weight will make handling, braking, and suspension performance better.. Dope looking heavy *** wheels are ultimately a big tradeoff.
