C36 M104 idle noise
Hi All- I have a 95 C36 motor swapped into my 95 E320 wagon. We did the swap over the summer this year. The car runs and drives very nicely. I am in the process of getting the computer tuned to the 3.6 info. We used the w124 wiring harness (seeing it was replaced) and in turn the w124 stock ecu. I have the bigger 3.6 crossover tube, but am using the e320 valve cover at the moment. The 3.6 crossover only works with the 2.8 style valve cover.
I have read a lot of thread about the "diesel" noise these motors make. My car definitely has it and am trying to get a feel if my engine falls within the norm or not. I am running 10/40 royal purple oil in the engine. The diesel noise only stays till about 1700-1800 rpm at which point it sounds normal. I have read some threads saying this is where the cam adjuster starts to kick in. I took a video of the car at idle earlier to see what you all think.
Thanks in advance for any feedback- Cory
