Just bought some new HID's

My passenger side fog light has burnt out after almost 2 years (I blame the cheap kit and the security lights for the early burn out) so I have decided to get some decent kits to replace them with. Currently I am running 35W 8K kits in both my head lights and fog lights. I bought these kits for $60 a piece from a guy on craigslist and I have to say I definitely got my moneys worth as I had never had a problem with them until the burnout. I have decided to change it up and go with some 55W 6K for my head lights and fog lights as I want to look more OEM with the color output as well as get a little more light output. My buddy bought a 6k kit from the same guy I bought my 8k kit from and the light output between the 2 was like night and day (literally )

I bought them from Xtremehids.com after reading another users review and pictures. The kits are on sale currently for $86.99 and have a 1 year warranty as well as the "no bulb out error" guarantee. I believe these kits usually sell for $200+

I will post pics once they arrive and I get them installed

Good call of 55w, 6k's. I love mine! Be warned though that 55w in the fog light housing will melt it a bit. I'd go with 35w for the fogs (3k imo).

I would've gone with DDM, in my opinion. Cheaper and lifetime warranty on the ballasts. I've had mine for 2 months and no issues (other than that random bulb-out light, which I've yet to figure out).

Urban myth, the HID's consume less power and give off less heat, the stock fog light and head lights are 55W halogen bulbs so it should be fine with the 55W HID's.

Ah, you are right. I was under the impression the fogs were 35w and the extra wattage would cause some melting at the connector.

I received my Xenon HID kits and installed the head lights

Here is the drivers side with the new 6k light and the passenger side with the old 8k light

Here are both lights replaced:

Here is a picture of the 55W 6k head lights and the 35W 8k fog light:

It is hard to tell with my crappy iphone pics but the 55w 6k bulbs are WAY brighter and produce less of a blue light. I will install the fogs on a nicer day.
