Whats up everybody...
i was hoping to cut out my resonator (inside the catalytic converter right?).. for sound purposes.
anyone know if my car will pass inspection after?
and is it gonna hurt performance?

Depends on your state's, county's or municipality's emissions standards. Tearing out your resonator ain't exactly going to clean up your emissions so I'd be a little concerned.
During a recent visit to MBAutowerks here in ATL, that same question about increased HP/performance was asked and the answer was - it most likely won't make a bit of difference. If I recall correctly (may want to check with Benzmac in the Performance and Tuning section) they stripped the resonator on a CLK 55 with before and after dyno and found very little to no difference. When you couple that with other performance mods, that result could possibly change...but it might not be worth the hassle.
My feeling is that AMG has tuned your exhaust about as good as it's going to get for a street legal vehicle. However, if you go through with it, let us all know the results.
