1998 c43 changing speaker system???

I was wondering how many ohms the 1998 c43 bose system is? I bought a deck and bought adapters to make it work. I also wanted to change the speakers but wasn't sure if I need to get 2ohm speakers or 4ohms? And also would I have to change the wires? If I change the speakers and amp?

I believe the BOSE system is 2 ohms. You would not need to change the wiring but you may need to change the connectors. If you are changing the amp you may not need 2 ohm speakers depending on the amp.

I, too, am interested in the specs of the Bose system (ohms, watts, speaker sizes), as I want to swap out my speakers only (amp will stay).

Also, does anybody know if it's possible to change the rear speakers without removing the entire hat deck (which seems to the be only way from what I've read).

Okay so your saying if I change my amp there's a possible chance that I dont need to change the factory wiring and does anyone know what kind of amp will that car take? Does it matter from a 2ohm and 4 ohm and if I do put a 4ohm then I can just put 4ohm speakers ?

You could possibly use the factory wiring as long as it is not the canbus system but you would need to change the connectors (the plastic part that plugs in to the amp) you can put what ever kind or size of amp in you like. You can hook up a 4 ohm speaker to a 2 ohm amp but you run the risk of blowing the speaker (the amp is putting out more power than the speaker is built to handle).

You should go to a car stereo store and pick their brains.

I had to do some modifications to my stereo to get it to work couple of adapters. Its sounds nice with the bose system I'm not complaining.
