Mercedes C43, Bilstein Sport Shocks or Hd?
I was looking into doing a bilstein sport shocks and H&r super sport springs or hd bilstein shocks with the H&r springs? Can someone tell me how stiff it is and if they like it?

I'm pretty sure if you're lowering the car at all (so H&R Sports OR Super Sports) your going to want to get the sport shocks. HDs are basically just the same as stock.

My mechanic told me differently. He said since I'm lowering it I would NEED the HD shocks. He said the HD stands for heavy duty. Let me know if he's trying to rip me off or guide me down the wrong path.

I put the Sports into my car in the fall of 2010 and thought they were great. That said, anything would be better than clapped out, 240,000km mileage original shocks. :) I lowered it on Vogtlands at the same time too. I was afraid that the ride might be too compromised, but it was not - it felt comfy just the same. The only downer was that the KMac camber/castor bushings up front squeak. Boo.

Correct Saab, B8's are the ones to take if you have lowered suspension. They are indeed shorter than the B6's. In the official factory catalogue, they only the number Bx to identify the type of shocks.
P.S. Say Vincent, what's new with your 43/55? Still not found the problem to make it run smooth? |

Bilstein Shocks
I have been searching for Bilstein Sports for my C43, not cataloged anywhere. Finally found installer in San Diego who assured me that he had Bilstein #B361854 & B361855 and they were correct for my car. Doing Ebach Prokit springs also. $369. for the 4 shocks. Anyone have experience with these #'s or combination?

Yep. As stated above, aftermarket shocks fit all 202s. So while places like tire rack don't list them for the c43 (don't know why) they have them for the C36 and C280.

If you use the HD ones on lowering springs you will blow out the seals in no time at all....that's for sure.
I've seen it myself more than a few times from guys that listened to the wrong experts. |
I finally decided Im going to go with the H&r super sport springs and bilstein sports. the H&r drop will be 1.4 front and 1.3 rear do you guys thing this is a good setup and it will drop nice or should I get the H&r springs that drop 2.0 front and 1.9 in the rear? But Ill probably rub and scratch my bumper.

Hey guys Im about to do suspension soon. I was wondering if I have to get a front and rear camber kit for my c43? Or can I just put on the shocks and springs and do alignment and Ill be good?
