$$ repair

just repaired the faulty fuel tank level sensors (2 of them, and the second time)...repaired the oil leaking camshaft advance unit....repaired the leaking oil level sending unit....

$$$$....sigh..

how do you know when its leaking to the cam unit..??

anyway to spot it easily..

physical or financial? the parts were not that expensive...for an mb...but the labor was...came in over 1k... must drive the car more...

haha, i was referring to financial. ouch, that hurts...

where in the city do you live, steve? i just picked up my 96 c36 yesterday, and i would love to meet an experienced enthusiast. hit me up if you have some free time. i also live in the city, btw.

just pm'd u.

j, i didn't c the leak, but the tech at mb spotted it. the adviser i've know for a long time (from volvo dealer)...so i doubt he's replacing something that's not leaking. i'm guessing since the car isn't driven much, the lack of oil circulation it must've dried the rubber hoses or boots somewhere (if they exist).

i know for sure the fuel tank is because the gas just sits there and well, gas needs to be stirred to prevent stuff from falling out... and the lack of movement of gas in the tank allowed water to condense, ruining the sensors.
