discussion on oil and oil filters for the c43

anyone ever try the new extended life mobil 1 brands? my understanding is that our beautiful cars take 0-40w oil.

wonder if it would be beneficial to get the 0-40w extended life ?

there is also something called new life? not sure what that is.

last question...what is the general thought on mobil 1 filters vs oem mb filters? like? dislike? i know frams are horrible.

as awlays...you guys are AWESOME. such a beautiful day in new york today.

if you buy aftermarket filters go for mahle or mann filters.

filters from mobile 1 have never seen any.

oil 0w40 there are different types.
check for 229.3 or 229.5 mb approval if i remember correct.

The M113 doesn't use a traditional metal filter, just inserts. That limits the selection somewhat. I've taken to changing my oil at 5000km intervals, and the filter only every other oil change. I believe you can get fleece or paper filter inserts, the price difference is marginal. Does MarcusF not have any discussion on his site about filters and such?

does it matter on fleece or paper filter inserts? i thought filters are canisters you completely unscrew.

as for oil...any thoughts on the non traditional mobil 1 0-40w oil?
