RPB

I have owned my 1995 since it had 101k and it now has 127k. Only ever needed a water pump but today it cut out at a light. It did not want to turn over for about 5-10seconds but then it started, I accelerated and the rpm's went crazy for about a 1-2miles of driving. For about 10miles it cut out a few times but would restart. Sometimes the rpm's were revving super low and would buck when I hit the gas. Now the car is quite rough at idle and the acceleration sucks! This happened once around 118k when I was getting on her and came to the stop light to find my car bucking, I turned it on and off with no issues thereafter. My car in now throwing a 0305 code for cylinder 5. I do know my engine harness is original and my mechanic said weird things will start to happen. My gas gauge is a bit wacky too!. She will get what she needs!

The symptoms you are listing sound very similar to the wiring harness. Take a look at it, from the pictures I have seen of faulty the wiring harness it appears to be pretty easy to spot as the shielding on the wiring crumbles away and the wires are exposed.
