Quick Q's
1. How long do the batteries in your remotes last? The c43 is my first car with keyless from the factory (95 W202s were too hipster to have keyless
) I replaced all the batteries in the keys when I got the car in December. Just this weekend I had to replace the batteries in my main key because the car wouldn't unlock with the remote. I noticed the range get shorter and shorter. At $8 a pop, this is INSANE! I've heard of people never having to change these batteries...2. What is the speaker in the pass. footwell for? I imagine the phone system, as there was no music coming out of it even though I was playing music in the car, but still, who wants their phone conversation to come from the passengers feet?? Also I didn't know there were separate speakers installed for the phone. I thought the sound just came from the normal Bose speakers.
Cheers!

Are you talking the speakers in the front doors? I get music out of those. Check your balance and fade settings. I believe the phone is supposed to come out of the speakers at the top corners of the dash.

I'm not. There are speakers in both driver and passenger door card, those play music fine. Then there are the little speakers that are next to the side air vents, again on both sides. I thought these acted as tweeters in the music sound system, but I didn't hear music coming out when I listened. Then there was one more speaker, deep on the outside plastic bit of the passenger's footwell. I don't know if there's one on the driver's side as well, but I haven't noticed it there.
