wtf new problem... Squeaky noise
Hi, so just 1 week after I did the reparation on my pulley tensionner an other noise comes in.
so before going to Joe Bassili's, I came here to ask you guys your opinion.
It's a squeaky noise that appears at 25-30 mph and higher and it comes from my front end (right wheel I'm 90% sure). the faster I go the faster the new frequency of the noise (it's a short squeaky one) and either I turn left or right it does it.
Also, it's more louder when i hit small bumps and cracks.
I think it's the wheel bearing but I changed it 3 years ago.. any ideas ? I read that it might be control arm or sway bar bushing. if it's thoses is it expensive ?
thanks

Definitely sounds like a bushing or bearing. I'd start with the wheel bearing, as it's probably cheapest and move on to control arm and/or sway bar bushing next if that doesn't solve it. If you're planning on selling it it may be more worth while to just leave it for the next guy to fix...
Definitely agree with nd4spd, that's a classic symptom of a wheel bearing going south. Good news is (I believe) wheel bearing are fairly cheap. Replace both just because. Fairly easy to do, there's a 'youtube' video in the DIY thread, I think.
Jack up the car, grab the tire check for radial end play.. Spin the tire listen for growling of a bad bearing. Pull the tire inspect the rotor and caliper for destroyed pad due to stuck caliper, inspect sway bar bushings... You'll find it.

Probably a wheel bearing and as mentioned change both if you do it. They are not expensive. Bearings wear out quicker if you are using wide wheels.
Sway bar bushings are not expensive and easy to change. It will also eliminate "clonking" noises.
It could be suspension bushes also. Don't try removing/replacing them coz they are probably totally rusted in the suspension arms. Easier to change them (both sides at the same time like bearings). You will need to do a suspension alignment after

awesome ! thanks guy, I always get great answers when I come here.
So I'll check this today to see if I notice anything. I noticed also that the noise doesn't start until I've rolled for like 2 or 3 miles. I tried lifting the car and spinning the wheel, no noise.
anyway, I'll come back soon for a more accurate answer.
