I cracked the front bumper of my C43

So I have a very low suspension on my C43 and I there was a small crack to begin with when I bought the car. I rolled over a tire stopper and got stuck, I tried to reverse but ended up partially pulling the bumper off and tearing the bumper apart. I went to the auto body today and the guy told me that it is $717.00 to refurbish it. Is there any other cheaper alternative? Should I look for a replacement bumper?

Maybe it is possible to repair (post some photos). Otherwise you could buy an aftermarket bumper.

Hate to be the courier of bad news, but that's the worst part to mess up on a C43. That bumper is curiously fragile and hard to come by. A new shell by itself (unpainted) can only be found at the dealer for $900+.

You can go aftermarket with Duraflex copies for $200-400 but they're unpainted and require a fair amount of sanding to get close to right.

BE WARNED: The shop bought mine from an official seller on eBay and ordered a C43 replacement. The ad said C43 all over it. A C36 replica bumper arrived with a note saying NO REFUNDS AFTER SHIPPED. So my C43 is going to have a C36 replica bumper that I can't send back for the proper bumper.

If the bumper is not missing any pieces, practically anything can be glued back together these days with the products you can find on the market today. In fact mine has a alloy strip with rivets underneath due to a small "incident" made by a previous owner and nothing can be seen from the exterior.

this doesnt make sense to me. they sent you the wrong part, you deserve a refund or the proper part. the "no refunds after shipped" should only apply if they held their end of the deal, which is to send you a C43 bumper cover. so can they then just ship you a box of rocks and you're stuck with it? i don't think so. plus, assuming the note was the first time this policy was mentioned, that's more BS. they can't just throw a note in and tell you for the first time that there are no refunds once they shipped it.

if you used your credit card, i'd call the cc company. if the shop got it for you and will bill you for it, tell them to deal with it, or just walk. that's BS. the ebayer basically ripped you off. it's the same thing if you paid for a C43 bumper and they sent you a damaged bumper or a civic bumper, or never sent you the product at all.

Agreed, post a pic. If Popeye can mold together a custom front bumper that looks factory I am betting you can fix yours but hard to tell without pics

It is a little more complicated with the stock bumpers... they are made of polyurethane. You can not weld.
