rusty spark plugs??
I'm in the process of cleaning up a c43 i just bought (93K), starting on the plugs and i pulled #2a, and right off noticed how tight it was compared to 1a/b, pull it out and the threads and tip are covered in rust and its soaked with gas. haven't looked at the others yet, but this worries me a bit.
no indication otherwise that there's water in the system, oil filler cap is free of any milky color, coolant looks clean, is this normal??
plan is to shoot some wd40 in the threads to make sure the new plug goes in smoothly and maybe run a thread cleaner in the hole as well, but hoping the experts can chime in before i get too buried in this.

update: pulled 5a, rusted as well, reeeeaally tight coming out of the head, almost looks like some minor cross threading as well. i'm freaking out here a bit...
2nd update: some wd40 and a thread chaser seem to be doing the trick, but is this "normal"??
3rd update: some of these plugs are so tight i'm afraid to turn/pull them out, help?!

It looks like the plugs have never been changed. Yes they can be stiff to remove but before getting each plug out of the cylinder, I would recommend you give a good blow of compressed air around the plug and cylinder recess to remove any grit and other loose gunk. You don't want to have that finding it's way inside the cylinder.

Update, sorry for freaking out, didn't want to **** up the engine or anything. Got all 16 successfully changed out, threads all cleaned, etc.
Next, oil cooler/filter housing gaskets!
