EC Light On Due to Low Coolant Pressure
I guess I should search first, but The EC light is on and I know there is a process where you can use the control panel to activate the AC compressor clutch to start it and that will allow you to add coolant. I will do a search and see what I come up with, unless someone post a link. Thanks Jeff

If just adding R134 to the system would work that would be great. But Ive read that the system wont accept any R134 becuase the compressor will not function and so there is no place for the coolant to go to. But what the heck I will give it a shot and let you guys know if it works or not. Jeff- formerly Speedybenz.

I thought the same but as it turns out when you attach the r134a can to the system it will start emptying into the car as the pressure in the can is higher than the system in the car and it will try to equalize. That should be be enough to trigger the low pressure switch. If the ambient temperature is low then you might need to put the can in a bucket of warm to hot water to increase the pressure.

Just connecting the can of r134 to the system will cause it to push freon into the system. Compressor does not need to turn on. If your system needs the compressor to be running in order to take any more freon, then you have a clogged receiver drier or expansion valve and should NOT put any more freon in or you run the risk of popping the evaporator and causing a NIGHTMARE job to replace it.
