Prop shaft alighment & Vibration

Diff is larger 220 case, 2.82 ratio,
The clk55 prop, diff and axles is same as w202 c55

I have tried some coding on C43 ECU and E55 can be coded in ME using 9 digit code,I think you need developer to be able to clear factory code. however it does give some fault codes so would need further testing. because I don't have gate shifter anymore it is hard to test 98/99 C43 ECU now. I assume if you code to E55 then the 2.82 could be used, also E55 map would apply?!
Cheers

Finally got my prop shaft last week only had to wait 2.5 months!.. I'm really glad I went with an entirely new shaft.MB germany said there was none availible world wide so they had to make it, smells like it has just been painted and date shows it was made 28/1/15
Both my original C43 and CLK55 shaft had this vibration 60 - 80km's but the C43 was not as bad I though it was wheel related at first, I recently checked the old C43 shaft and it too has dry notchy universal and spline.
Comparing the old vs new CLK55 shaft with 149kkms in hot climate, all original parts:
Old shaft had some lateral play in center bearing and rubber has gone a little firm but was smooth/quiet,zero play in new and rubber is very soft.
Old shaft had dry spline and some play, adding grease helped alot, new shaft is VERY tight, zero play.
Old shaft has notchy dry universal, new is smooth.
Old flexi disks were like concrete, new are soft.
Old shaft has dry worn centering bearing rear prop to diff, wear pattern shows it was no longer center and rubber seal has expanded to far to retain grease. I suggest a check for this would be to safely jack the rear wheels off the ground and let the car run in drive at idle, touch a small plastic tool onto the side of the prop just prior to the diff as it rotates and you will see if this bush is doing its job, on both my CLK55 and C43 it was off center.
As for the prop to trans centering bush, it has expanded slightly on the old, but this bush is rubber only and still had some grease present.
Here is a pic showing the rear centering bush, you can clearly see the seal has expanded larger than the shaft so this has lost all grease. I suggest this should be replaced when flexi's are done.... however I would evaluate the rest of the shaft before doing anything as it might end more cost effective to replace the entire prop shaft.
I am yet to drive the car as the new shaft didn't come with new bolts for trans and diff even though it comes with two new flexi's
, so just waiting on bolts.

Have you investigated what is wrong with your original shaft?
Not sure what you mean by custom?

ZAYED,,

I think front prop shaft will be ok but not sure about rear half as diff is larger maybe the flange is slightly further forwards?. I recall when I compared C43 to CLK55 I did not notice any difference in length but the difference could still be small

I will compare them again some time when I have both together

Any tips on the remove install but mostly on the noise, I never hear it otherwise but when from totally stop to start hard acceleration..

went from the CLK 320 2000 what a change

thx I will try the AMG section bro, urs isnt bad to man,,,
