99 C43 transmission leak
New member here, ready to join the AMG family! Lived for years in Stuttgart, committing twice a day by the Unterturkheim MB headquarters. Now living in a middle of nowhere..well sort of, at least nowhere near a good MB shop.
I need a bit of advise. I am looking at a 99 C43 with 91k. The car looks good except for a transmission leak. The owner has replaced the transmission in 2008. He showed me paper work for the purchase of a gearbox-$1800 and installation-$400. The paper work doesn't state at what milage was the work done, or that it was a C43 gearbox. Owner also claims he can't recall what the milage was when the work was done. The current transmission is leaking a little but the fluid looks clean. Where I live there is no shop that can really tell me if the new transmission is genuine C43 part, or diagnose, fix the current problem.
I test drove the car and it seems to be shifting fine. I don't really know how it is suppose to be shifting, as I've only driven stick shift all my life...
Not having a shop nearby that can tell me what the problem is with the current transmission and if it is oem part, what would you guys advise me to do:
Purchase the car, or move on?
Thanks for your help!

As for the leak its usually just the pan gasket or the electrical plug seals, both are simple and cheap fixes.
