Check Engine Light
I got the code read, and it says "engine misfire". I didn't fix anything and just got the light reset. The light came back on again after hard acceleration. Same code.
I am wondering if this is caused by a faulty air mass meter, mass air flow sensor, or something else??
Thanks in advance.
Erratic Idle is one of the major symptons with a MAS.
The car misfires because the coil ends are subject to high heat and break down easily leaving the spark to go elsewhere except to the plug.
Trust me. I had the exact same acceleration problem due to bad coil ends. Like I said, it's a common problem and easy/cheap fix.
When you have time, should take you 10 min, pull the coil ends out. Look at the bottom. Are they reddish brown? If they are..replace them.

I've been through those symptoms. It's your MAF! You can unplug it , and drive it to test it. Check your warranty.......it's considered a major component.
After changing all my O2 sensors @US$90 I still had a CEL (Check Engine Light)
Diagnostic Codes read the same....
P0170(Fuel Trim Malfunction,Bank1)
PO173(Fuel Trim Malfunction,Bank2)
wtf. Took it in to explain to Dealer and they repl. MAS on wty.
Result:-
1/ Approx 80km./50mi more/tank of gas.
2/ Great acceleration as new.
3/ No roaring sound when accelerating
4/ Crusing at 2200RPM instead of 2600RPM when CEL on.
5/ No wishing for the CEL bulb to blow!!
Could have taken it to the dealer in the 1st place but the previous time I paid cnd$500/US$300 and they claimed it was O2 sensor and that is not covered under extended wty.!!
