Hey so I've been reading this thread and there is some great info on here.
My c43 shifts ok around town but if you put your foot to the floor when it goes into second it kinda revs high for a bit and then seems like it's backfiring or something then goes into second. Other than that the car shifts what seems to be normal.
so I brought to a mb independant mechanic and he suspects it's the conductor plate.
I did some research and it seems like it's not that difficult of a job to do. I am just wondering if I do it do I have to go to a a mb mechanic to get them to erase a code?

Also where can I get a conductor plate for a reasonable price?

I got a quote of $1300 do change the fluid/plate, etc.

Thanks Pj, yeah I checked Rockauto as well and it's about the same maybe a bit cheaper.
The job doesn't look to difficult but do I need to bring it in to get an error code cleared after?

Just did the conductor plate-mine went bad 2.5 hours into a trip. Really not a difficult job, I ended up doing it in a parking lot with minimal tools. Make sure you have the proper torx bit, an inch/lb torque wrench, and the correct replacement parts.

Yes, you need to have someone with SD to reset the code. My standard obd reader would clear it temporarily but it'd come right back.

I did experience a couple times where it'd hit the limiter & stumble into 2nd...but no hard shifts or anything indicating it would fail. I'd do the shift connector, filter, electrical connector, gasket, conductor plate, & spring as precautionary measure. I was in trans before but didn't do conductor plate & it bit me in the *** big time. Mine was throwing a P0715 code-replacing the conductor plate & clearing the code eliminated the issue-just put 1100 more miles on it.
