There was a black one with a 5 speed for sale in California in the last few months as well, was asking $7k.
I would assume that with a Mercedes flywheel from a manual transmission car, it would be relatively straight forward. The 6 speed would be from a W203 C230 coupe, which was offered as a manual or automatic.

In the US i believe they were on 190E 2.6 after 1989 and the 300SL with the 3.0 24V engine.
