Important !
Coasting the vehicle, or driving for any other reason with the selector lever in "N" can result in transmission damage that is not covered by the Mercedes-Benz Limited Warranty.

(2)
Do not engage "N" while driving except to coast when the vehicle is in danger of skidding (e.g. on icy roads, see Winter driving Instructions in Index).
Ive done it loads of times and never had a trans issue, 278,000klms on my E55 and trans was not touched other than to service/replace fluid and filter.

Not even sure where any damage could be done by coasting in neutral.
