Thank you too zayed. I have no idea how big I was able to open the TB and intake. But I did use the stock parts. The intake got a lot of porting for sure. Not just the opening, but many other areas as well. Car breathes like never before.

if you're cracking open the throttle body, you could look into intake velocity stacks.

user "speedybenz" had a 55 swapped C43 and he somehow custom fabricated velocity stacks inside the throttle body, and he said it made the biggest improvement over all the mods he had (and he had done them all).

according to him, his car was beating M156 C63 AMG's in the quarter mile, no supercharger required!

In my personal air setup i have one of these between the maf and the rubber T that splits to the air filters. Had to get the rubber hot to slip in the velocity stack. Does make a nice improvement.

But I believe speedybenz added these to the intake manifold. Can't see any velocity stacks fitting in the small throttle body. I could be wrong though....

Individual throttle bodies (stacks) can probably be made. That would be interesting. You could take this kit for a V12 Zonda and cut off two throttles to adapt for the V8...

Just kidding, but I imagine if you have deep pockets the sky is the limit

I think intake more. I did a dual exhaust and lost a bit of power which was weird. Went back to y pipe and got the lost power back.

Can one of you guys make sense of what speedybenz wrote long ago? I found a thread he started which he added the velocity stacks to the inside of the intake manifold. Sad that the pics expired, would love to have seen it. But below he said this and I would like to do this to my second intake mod.

Here's what he wrote:

"I found through trial and error and back to back testing that disabling the two stage runners and removing the bottom, long section of the manifold runners opened up the plenum area greatly and seemed to almost eliminate most of the lost low end torque."

Dd share. Ive heard from a few people who work on these cars that the exhaust and intake are major restrictions.

Dual all the way to dual in dual out borla muffler. Super loud, and get this. I HAD to install silencer one on each side to quite it down. Right of the bat the car got more responsive with the silencers. These engines NEED some back pressure. I tried all kind of setups and 3 inch y pipe worked the best in my testing.

And thanks for wanting to read Jeff's post.

Too Many To List
BMW & Mercedes are typically as reliable as the warranties on them. Be prepared for the same types of maintenance as any Euro from the 90's will have issues. Even one that's been lovingly maintained.

I know you know your stuff man but thats some major mods. If you are not doing 400 at the crank with those something is wrong :/

Even with 5hp per mod thats still like 30 extra hp but im sure some of those will give you extra
